Cowabunga, dude! The original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trilogy has received a 4K Ultra HD remaster, arriving on December 16th. Pre-orders are ongoing.
The limited edition box set features 4K restorations by Arrow Films of 1990’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the 1991 sequel The Secret of the Ooze, and 1993’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III. The first movie also boasts remixed Dolby Atmos surround audio, while the other two feature remixed DTS-HD MA 5.1 surround audio. Blu-ray discs of all three films are also included in the package.
In addition, the collection features brand new director’s commentaries and cast and crew interviews for all three films, as well as a collector’s booklet featuring new writing by Simon Ward, John Torrani, and John Walsh. The full list of extras will be announced on September 26th.

Directed by Steve Barron, the original film followed the animated series that made Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo into pop culture sensations, as they took on the fearsome Shredder while led by their mentor, Splinter. Its sequel introduced new villains Tokka and Rahzar, while the third film sent the Turtles and April O’Neil back in time to feudal Japan.
In other Ninja Turtle news, the first movie is returning to theaters from August 16th to 21st. Tickets are on sale now.
The TMNT franchise is still going strong, with a sequel to the 2023 animated film, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, currently in development and set to open in theaters on September 17th, 2027. There’s also an R-rated adaptation of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin storyline in the works.
