A legendary ‘90s Nissan coupe just got a face like a ‘Cuda, an LS2 swap, and a manual transmission that’s begging for burnouts

Looking at this 1995 Nissan 240SX from the rear, it doesn’t look particularly wild, other than the flared wheel arches. But step around to the front, or take a glance under the hood, and it becomes immediately clear that this isn’t your average S14.
The Japanese classic is heading to auction later this week through Mecum, and it’s sporting a V2 Boss body kit from Rocket Bunny. That means more than just flared fenders. The front end has been completely reworked, drawing visual inspiration from classic American muscle cars like the 1970 Plymouth ’Cuda.

The mix of American influence doesn’t stop with the design. Gone is the S14’s original four-cylinder engine and in its place sits a 6.0-liter naturally-aspirated LS2 V8 from GM.
That’s not all, as this engine has been upgraded with new cams and titanium valves, allowing it to churn out a monstrous 520 hp and 510 lb-ft (691 Nm) of torque. The V8 snarl, combined with the lightweight body, should make this S14 an absolute ball to drive.

Mated to the LS2 is a Tremec six-speed manual transmission, routing power through the rear wheels. Other modifications made include the fitment of an Air Lift suspension system, a stainless steel exhaust, and a dramatic Electric Metallic Blue paint scheme.
The exhaust also has titanium tips, complete with that characteristic blue finish. A set of aftermarket Kanza Cerberus II wheels has also been installed.
Inside, the transformation is more restrained. Most of the cabin remains factory-spec, apart from a new three-spoke steering wheel and a fresh shift knob, offering a nod to the car’s updated performance without losing its original character.
Adding to the appeal of this S14 is the fact that it was named the winner of the 2024 Hot Wheels Legends Tour in Georgia and also took home the fan favorite title across North America. It’ll be interesting to see how much it sells for, as it combines the best of the JDM market with American muscle.
