Today I stopped by Cadillac of Manhattan and got up close and personal with the new Cadillac F1 car, and I have to say — photos online do not do this thing justice. Seeing it in person completely changes your perspective on just how serious GM is about this program. The livery is stunning. That black and white split design with exposed carbon fiber weave catches the light in a way that cameras struggle to capture. Standing over the car and looking down at the bodywork, you can see every detail in the carbon — it's a work of art before it even turns a wheel in anger. What struck me most was the sheer scale of it. You see these cars on TV and they look sleek and compact, but standing next to it in a dealership showroom surrounded by Escalades and Lyriqs really puts things into perspective. It's low, wide, and aggressive in a way that makes everything else in the room look tame. The livery transitions between matte white and gloss black panels are incredibly clean, and the geometric patterns layered over the carbon fiber give it a modern, almost architectural feel. Getting down low, you can really appreciate the complexity of the new floor design — the edge detailing and sculpted tunnels underneath are a reminder of how much performance is being generated from the ground effect aero on these current-gen cars. As an F1 fan, I never thought I'd see the day an American manufacturer would enter the grid as a full constructor. The fact that Cadillac is displaying this car at their flagship Manhattan dealership shows they want everyday people to connect with this project, not just hardcore motorsport fans. Unfortunately today was the only day to view it, but I'm glad I made the trip. If Cadillac brings it around again, don't miss it. submitted by /u/Tosirius |
