Evelyn Partners Group has finalised the sale of its fund solutions business, managed by Evelyn Partners Fund Solutions (EPFL), to Thesis Holdings.
The transaction follows the earlier disposal of its Professional Services business on 31 March, marking a strategic shift for Evelyn towards concentrating on its wealth management operations.
In January this year, Thesis first signed a deal to acquire the fund solutions business from Evelyn.
The acquisition bolsters Thesis’ independent fund governance and administration operations, with the combined entity now overseeing 330 funds and assets exceeding $50bn.
Evelyn Partners chief executive Paul Geddes said: “The sale of EPFL to Thesis, means Evelyn Partners is now focused solely on wealth management activities.
“I would like to thank the team at EPFL for their commitment and professionalism and wish them well for the future as part of Thesis.”
As part of the deal, 75 employees, primarily based in Glasgow, who supported the EPFL business, have transitioned to Thesis.
Thesis chief executive David Tyerman said: “I’m delighted to be welcoming the EPFL team to Thesis. Their reputation in the market is excellent and, like us, they have a culture founded in high-quality professional services.
“Having EPFL in the group increases choice for our sponsors, as well as introducing greater scale for Thesis. Ultimately this will ensure good outcomes for our fund investors.”
Evelyn Partners received financial advice from Evercore and legal counsel from Macfarlanes for the transaction, while Thesis was advised by Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner.
Evelyn Partners was established in 2020 from the merger of Tilney and Smith & Williamson. As of 31 March 2025, the firm manages £61.9bn in assets.
The company operates an extensive network of offices in 25 locations across the UK, the Republic of Ireland, and the Channel Islands.
It serves private clients, family trusts, charities, and offers investment solutions to financial intermediaries.
“Evelyn closes sale of fund solutions business to Thesis ” was originally created and published by Private Banker International, a GlobalData owned brand.
